The Vitality Car Rating is a pioneering system that evaluates a vehicle’s condition by analysing comprehensive data, including driving behaviour, accident history, and mileage patterns. Discovery Insure accurately assesses a vehicle’s true condition by leveraging over 20 billion kilometres of driving data collected over 13 years.

How it works

For Discovery Insure clients enrolled in the Vitality Drive programme, driving behaviour is continuously monitored using advanced telematics. The data is then used to calculate a Vitality Car Score out of 1,000, with factors such as:

• Accident History: Records of any past incidents.
• Driving Behavior: Patterns like acceleration, braking, and adherence to speed limits.
• Mileage Type: The nature of kilometres driven, distinguishing between city traffic and open-road driving.

Based on this score, vehicles receive a rating from one to five, with higher ratings indicating better condition. A top-tier rating can boost a vehicle’s resale value by up to 15% when selling through Weelee.
